Some very good goals scored last night with Edwards again answering some critics with three great crosses.

At the back though we were a shambles again, far to much ball watching and allowing players far to much space. We need another defender with the current players being given plenty of time to prove themselves.

Midfield was ok but again allowed bedworth to much space with hardly a header won in that area all night, having five across the middle should have helped stifle the chances of beduff but it didnt seem to work last night.

New lad up front looked strong and skillful, anyone know anything about him?

The player is Jarred Stevens, former blues youth team striker that has played for both Telford and Rushall.

Miller, I disagree that we were a shambles at the back, and were ''ball watching''. As for your statement that 'the current players been already given enough time to prove themselves', this isn't the problem, the problem is injuries which meant we had two midfielders playing left and right back, which although they should be able to help out the defence, actually playing that position for a complete match is a different story. I know Dainty and Roscorla have both covered those positions in the past, but as we saw the other week with Hendrie, it isn't that easy to play out of their natural position, and I think Guiney did well at coaching them during the match. I think the whole team battled till the end, and when certain players weren't putting in enough effort for short bursts, the others made up for it. We certainly got our £6 worth last night

Well feel free to disagree but we conceded three poor goals again and have yet to keep a clean sheet even when we do have fit players. So because two defenders are injured we have no REAL defensive cover, there is a problem in itself there.

Yes it was a good game but until the defence is sorted we are going to have to at least score one every game.

interesting fact: all 7 goals came from the right side of the defence!
apart from blaming the defence i think we need to look at the midfield as well, with 5 across the middle who seem to play in a straight line ,how many times did you see a midfielder clear from our area apart from set pieces? with 5 in the middle,2 of them need to play defensive, leaving the other 3 to support the forward or forwards depending on formation, to me if the fullbacks are pulled across into the middle the wide men need to get goal side of their wingers, defend as a team.
saying that i agree with miller about edwards, whom i thought was superb as a lone forward, creating a couple of goals, closing down defenders, and was a handful and got a load of stick off the ``beduff boyz``. woakes was in good form and voice, roscorla and dainty played well ,guiney and boothe battled manfully in the centre of the defence against a very good forward, hendrie and henchcliffe took their goals well, lewis had his best game for a while, and rathbone and robinson worked hard until they tired.great cameo from luke keenfor his 2 goals and bruce did well to set up the winner and stephens looks a handful.
still a lot to work on but couldnt fault the spirit and commitment.
