I also know that Mr Fulford is working on a shoe string budget, not sure how much the majority of the fans think the players are being paid, but I can bet it's more than they actually are. Would like to know what the club is doing to bring in extra money, can they not get sponsorship from the local companies, such as Aldi UPS et, most of these large companies have money that they can put into local projects/community funds, has anyone approached them?
i know for a fact aldi and ups dont want to sponser us because adie burr is chairman and they dont like him
Daniel.
Just to confirm the later part of your comment - "Aldi and UPS won't sponsor the club because of Adie Burr??"
As mentioned, UPS have not been approached but having read below, may be spoken to in the very near future. As for Aldi, they were shafted from previous management thus a relationship has to be built and proven before they would even think about putting funds into the club... please, if you have an issue with Adie - do speak up instead of masking it with unfounded rubbish!
On Saturday, a
GOOD few fans turned up to the forum at the ground and some great things came out - and to be honest, I think with those few people taking time to come along and listen, make comments and suggestions, the club deserves to be saved from these tough times.
I know for a fact that over these next few weeks we will be having talks with some potential sponsors which
will help the club over the next few years, and not months.
As was mentioned at the meeting, if you have nothing to sell then people will not buy in - yet if you can prove that you have something worth supporting then people will help. And the one big key to this, is the supporters of the club. If they start to turn up in bigger numbers, then there may be a better chance of selling advertising space - but when you look at the average gate this season, you can understand why these companies can not see commercial viability.
What has happened in previous times should now be placed firmly behind, and positive moves made to go forward. Again, like was mentioned, those who support the club should be behind the club and not fighting against personal reasons.
As for Adie, what he has done so far he has not made any secrets. yes, there has been plans to do some building on Sheepy Road, but then, that would be the only way to raise the money to build a new ground!! There has to be a reason behind every plan and yes, if it comes off, the club will have better facilities full stop. And if Aidie wasn't to do it, then by all means let everyone know who you think would do it, and not should do it!
The whole purpose of this is to build a long term future for the Adders, and not just to get through to the end of the season.
