Woakes vs Clarke

Postby nuneatongazza on Mon Oct 19, 2009 12:36 pm

I think that we should play dave clarke in the reserves for at least a few games to enable him to get some confidence back. We have not gone a 1st team game yet without conceding at least 1 goal.
I know he made a few good saves on Sat but also getting lobbed for 2 goals is not good either. For me he is not vocal enough and the defence never seem to know where Dave is until its too late
Woakes in the few games he has played has been more vocal and an equally good shot stopper. Also we have not had a home win in the league since August and this also needs addressing quickly as not everybody wants to treck to hitchin and surrounding villages every other week
So come on lads lets get behind the boys/men and get this home win and clean sheet voodoo off our backs

think Clarke is ok Gaz, Woakes is more vocal, maybe when Dickapedia isn't doing his knitting he can come up with some stats n the two different keepers and how many goals they've conceaded.

the three goals leigh scored against us were not down to clarke.
when you have someone who comes through one on one you have to come out to meet them and try to force them into an error.
the lad who came through one on one was as cool as a cucumber and finished both goals very well.
now if clarke had stayed on his line i would be more worried about that.
ask yourself how the two one on ones developed?
all afternoon they were puting diaganal balls in behind us with ease.
i personally would have defended a little bit deeper than we did.
also have to say leigh were one of the best teams i have seen at sheepy road for years.
i dont think many leigh players will be playing pub football on a sunday like alot of players in our league.
all the best to them in the next round.
