Pay your money and come through the gate you have the right to opinion, what Jimmy did in the time he was here was great, but it came at a cost, Jim would have been on his way as John said if the boro came knocking, and any club in the league above, you can't blame him for that if it happened. As far as i can see Daren and Dave have done a great job and i wonder what people would say if we got to the play offs and got promoted with the team now, Ironic maybe,

Now come on and get behind the team we have NOW, it aint good at times but i aint complaining, i've offered my skills asnd will come training if you get short Daren, you aint pm me yet.

I also know that Mr Fulford is working on a shoe string budget, not sure how much the majority of the fans think the players are being paid, but I can bet it's more than they actually are. Would like to know what the club is doing to bring in extra money, can they not get sponsorship from the local companies, such as Aldi UPS et, most of these large companies have money that they can put into local projects/community funds, has anyone approached them?

i know for a fact aldi and ups dont want to sponser us because adie burr is chairman and they dont like him

Daniel.

Just to confirm the later part of your comment - "Aldi and UPS won't sponsor the club because of Adie Burr??"

As mentioned, UPS have not been approached but having read below, may be spoken to in the very near future. As for Aldi, they were shafted from previous management thus a relationship has to be built and proven before they would even think about putting funds into the club... please, if you have an issue with Adie - do speak up instead of masking it with unfounded rubbish!

On Saturday, a GOOD few fans turned up to the forum at the ground and some great things came out - and to be honest, I think with those few people taking time to come along and listen, make comments and suggestions, the club deserves to be saved from these tough times. I know for a fact that over these next few weeks we will be having talks with some potential sponsors which will help the club over the next few years, and not months.

As was mentioned at the meeting, if you have nothing to sell then people will not buy in - yet if you can prove that you have something worth supporting then people will help. And the one big key to this, is the supporters of the club. If they start to turn up in bigger numbers, then there may be a better chance of selling advertising space - but when you look at the average gate this season, you can understand why these companies can not see commercial viability.

What has happened in previous times should now be placed firmly behind, and positive moves made to go forward. Again, like was mentioned, those who support the club should be behind the club and not fighting against personal reasons.

As for Adie, what he has done so far he has not made any secrets. yes, there has been plans to do some building on Sheepy Road, but then, that would be the only way to raise the money to build a new ground!! There has to be a reason behind every plan and yes, if it comes off, the club will have better facilities full stop. And if Aidie wasn't to do it, then by all means let everyone know who you think would do it, and not should do it!

The whole purpose of this is to build a long term future for the Adders, and not just to get through to the end of the season.

I havent been on this forum since the slagging off of the youth set up at the start of the season .which i defended

i was involved with this club when it reformed firstly i congratulate Darren & Dave in having belief in the youngsters and secondly i congratulate Mark & Wayne on a fantastic job with the youth Team What ever happens this wednesday they have done a fantastic job to make club history to reach the first round proper of the youth cup.

next onto the club if Atherstone is to have a club next season or even finish this one people have to put all the effort into supporting the club .make it save our club season dont think others will keep putting there hands in there pocket to rescue your side. people keep blaming Adi Burr but the guy can only put so much money in.

if as i have read the budget is cut then Darren has no choice to look at the youth to carry him on and he wont have two better people below him to do it in Grainger & Chapman two local lads with great knowledge of the game obviously two differrent charecters but that is whats needed in football good cop bad cop i have worked with Mark previously he will give his all for the club and so will wayne.

Darren has come from simular background he has worked his way up and is proud to be manager of Atherstone this is no quick fix you wouldnt build the footings of a sky scrapper on jelly would you because it would collapse these guys are working hard to build the club on solid foundations.

i sat in the back of the stands saturday watching the under 16s before i had to go to my game and i noticed three of the guys from the youth watching Grainger Chapman and there physio dont know his name but that is comitment then after half time i saw Fulford and haywood these guys are concerned about the future of the club and take time to watch the youngsters games.

everbody in Atherstone should stop bleeting and get of the backsides and put in the effort to save the club when its gone its gone and this time the council will rub there hands and build on that land .

remember i love this club i cut my teeth with them and i wouldnt be were iam today if it wasnt for the adders

good luck to the youth team on wednesday all of you locals come out to watch this achivement. And good luck to all concerned in the fight of keeping this club afloat

hopefully adders will never die

As a supporter for over 60 years through good times and bad i was very upset to read that Adders are again in financial difficulty. I endorse the comments that it is time to move on from the days of Jimmy Ginelly whose acievements should never be forgotten. However, i think that the new management team deserve special praise for what they have achieved on a much lower budget and much younger team. Had the Adders won their last home match they would have been joint top and had the home results matched the superb away record then the Adders would be runaway leaders.

I think it is time to stop knocking the Chairman as without his support there might not be a team.

It is very difficult to attract sponsorship during the current recession with all sports feeling the pinch as companies cut back. I now live too far away from Atherstone to to provide any manual assistance but would be happy to make a contribution towards a "Save the Adders fund". The average gate is now around 200 but probably twice as many still closely follow the fortunes of the Club and would be heartbroken to see it fold. An appeal for donations of say £20 might get a response from 400- 500 followers/supporters with a target of £8000 to £10000 which would be well received by management.

Time for everyone to be positive and give the present management the support it deserves,
